Censorship is a good thing because it makes sure that young children aren't exposed to inappropriate things. If things aren't censored that could lead to people being scarred mentally and it could change people's lives in a bad way. On the other hand, censorship is a bad thing because it restricts people and it doesn't allow them to have freedom of speech. Also, sometimes things that might be censored have morals or opinions they want to be publicized and might help people, but can't help people because they're censored.
Censorship is good, because it keeps people from experienceing things that will hurt them or others. It is also good because it allows goverments to keep secrets that would otherwise hurt them.
Censorship can be bad because people have the right to say what they want. Also people have the right to know what the goverment is doing.
I think Censorship is good because it protects the kids from harmful things. I think Censorship because it takes away our freedom of speech.
Censorship is necessary because children are impressionable. If a child sees a person cuss or be violent the child might imitate him or her.
Censorship is wrong because it makes artist shy away from controversial themes. An artist might no right about cloning or racism because he or she might be afraid of censorship. The artist would see no one would buy it.
One good thing about censorship is that people who shouldn't be watching a inappropriate show will be censored so if it is a young kid he wont learn any cuss words or anything that a child shouldnt know. One bad thing about censorship is some people want to Warhol it not censored and there is a rating for a reason if a kid is watching a R movie they shouldn't be watching it in the dirt place.
Censorship helps parents block or not let their children see what there parents don't want them to see. Censorship can also block a big part of a book, article, or the news that might be a god thing to know.
Censorship is a good thing because it can keep children from seeing inappropriate things for their age. It also prevents people getting offended because of material they disagree with. For instance, many religious groups hold protests, and that could be avoided by censorship.
Censorship is a bad thing because, in some ways, it takes away freedom of speech. The artist, aka writer/producer ect., is getting robbed of their vision of their movie, book or song. It could also prevent people from writing what they want, because of the fear that their work would be censored.
For censorship:
I think censorship is good because without it, young children who are left unattended are basically free to watch whatever is on TV. This is not safe, and things they see on television are sometimes not appropriate.
Against censorship:
I think censorship is a bad thing because the writer, artist, or director who created their work has freedom to do so. If they want to create something violent or inappropriate, they have a right to do so. It is up to the parents to view the ratings.
I think that censorship isn't always a good thing. It is the artists choice to but whatever they want in there own work. They have the right to do that and I think to to a limit, it is okay. Censoring things is just hiding things that some people might not agree with, and that's not okay. Today in class we talked about how if people are afraid of their work being censored, then they might not write it. And influencing someone not to write what they feel is unjust. I agree with some censorship for those who aren't mature enough. Some material may not be appropriate for some children and therefore should be cut out.
