In my opinion, I do not think that schools should cut sport programs to make sure that each gender gets an equal amount of money. I think this because people would not have an equal amount of opporatunities to to things that they like. Instead, they should raise tuition a little bit more, charge a little bit more to watch games and buy food at the games, and they should cut spending in places that do not need it as much.

Yes, they should, but it really doesn't matter because they have to under the law we talked about today in class. They should because not to do so would be unfair to women and, in a sense, sexist.

It is a tough question but here is what I think. There can be no equal solution to this problem. I also believe that we should fund sports based on popularity the more people that try out for the sport, the more funding it receives. Sports that receive more attention should be funded more than others.

Schools shouldn't cut sports programs to make sure that each gender gets an equal amount of money. This is because if you cut a sport that someone really loves, that person will be upset (there would probably be more than one person though) and they might decide that if that sport isn't important, no other sport is important, and you'll lose money because that person (or those people) won't contribute to any other sport. They can make sports equal for both men and women by making sure there is an even amount of sports and an even distribution of money. If a sport makes a profit, the profit that sport made should be used to benefit that sport.

Yes, but you have to make sure the amount of sports and the popularity of them are considered before you cut a men's or women's sport.

I think they shouldn't cut sports programs so that each gender has the exact same amount of money. If they did this, then there would be too much trouble over one thing. I mean, it would be good if everyone had the same amount of opportunities, just not everything has to be exact. I think a good way to make women and men's sports equal would be to have the same amount of money for each sport that each gender plays. Maybe not the exact same number of sports options, just the same benefits.

No, I think that schools should see which sports bring in the most money and see which sports are not as popular. They should do this because it will help the schools save money and bring more in. A lot of women don't even want to play sports. Most schools have club sports which compete with other schools but are not school sponsored.

There is no perfect solution to this issue. Any choice would have reasonable except just sexism. I think spending the same on both is probably the best way to go. It's not perfect and sports would have to be cut, but that is the fairest solution in my mind.

I don't think they should cut sports programs to make sure each gender gets an equal amount of money. I think this because if you do this you might have to cut the one or two sports that actually make a profit weather it be mens or women's sports. If they don't cut sports teams they should make a buget they can use to make sure all the sports are funded well enough to keep it or make a profit.

I don't think schools should cut programs so that each gender gets an equal amount because men's sports makes a lot more than women's sports make. I think that they should put money into the sports that make the most money. It isn't fair that men's sports have to be cut because of Title IX. The school has to make money, and in order for them to do so, they must continue to put the most money into sports like football and hockey, etc.

I think the school should not cut sports because some kid may be practicing that sport for his whole life and want to go to that school and they cut it and he had to go to a school he doesn't like. I think they should give more money to the sports that give a profit and money to the others, but not as much.

I think they should because it is under the law. Like we said in class, all women have the right to play sports, so there would be no point in trying to change the amount of money you pay for in sports. They should let anyone, male or female, try out for teams and if there isn't enough people to play on a team, they just won't be able to play.
